New York Times correspondent Maggie Haberman told CNN on Friday that Kanye West Oval Office meeting with Donald Trump did not run over well with White House staff, who were left inclination “gigantically humiliated” for the “dumbfounded and befuddled” president
The world is as yet discussing Kanye West odd lunch with President Donald Trump ― including White House staff members. What’s more, a significant number of them are feeling “immensely humiliated” by the president’s Oval Office meeting with the rap star, New York Times White House reporter Maggie Haberman told CNN on Friday.
“In the event that you look [at the president’s] look as Kanye West was doing, basically, his delay remaining before the Resolute Desk, [Trump] looks puzzled and befuddled, right. [He’s] questionable very what to do with this,” Haberman said.
The journalist brought up the outward appearances of Trump’s little girl and child-in-law as further models of the blended response.
“You can see Jared Kushner there looking extremely glad, his significant other Ivanka Trump not looking very as cheerful,” Haberman said. “That spoke to the split that you saw inside the White House.”
Haberman said White House staff members were pained by the optics of the gathering.
“I got notification from other West Wing associates who were enormously humiliated that that had occurred, imagined that was not a decent look, this isn’t a stone show,” she said.
“The main sentiment I have heard is why have we taken what was a pretty good week for the president with Kavanaugh, which is something that Republican candidates heading into the midterms would probably rather be talking about, and why are we now doing ‘Kanye Week’?”
West, wearing a red Make America Great Again cap, held forward for about 10 minutes in what appeared to be a continuous flow rate. When he completed, Trump commented: “I disclose to you what ― that was entirely great. That was very something.”
