Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have formally got married, and it would seem that the wedding end of the week in India was fundamentally a constant festival from beginning to end.
The couple kicked things off with a mehendi (otherwise called mehndi) party ― a Hindu pre-wedding custom in which the lady of the hour gets unpredictable henna structures connected to her hands and feet amid a social event of close family and companions. The couple likewise celebrated with a pre-wedding occasion called the sangeet ― or a melodic gathering ― that was fundamentally an all-out show put on by the capable lady of the hour and prep and their families.
Luckily, the couple graced us with some photographs and recordings from the exhibitions, which you can look at underneath (look to one side):
“Each family tells [s] our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love,” the “Quantico” actress wrote of the sangeet on Instagram. “We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love, and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends.”
The couple got hitched not once but rather twice this end of the week: first in a Christian function administered by Jonas’ dad at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Saturday, trailed by a Hindu service on Sunday.
“A standout amongst the most extraordinary things that our relationship has given us is a converging of families who love and regard each other’s religions and societies,” the couple composed on their particular Instagram accounts. “Thus arranging our wedding with an amalgamation of the two was along these lines, so astounding.”
Jonas proposed to Chopra in July during her birthday trip to Crete, though they didn’t officially announce the engagement until August. Afterward, Jonas’ parents flew to Mumbai to meet Chopra’s family and celebrate their engagement in a Hindu pre-wedding ceremony called a roka.
Of the multi-day wedding extravaganza, Chopra told Vogue, “People will need vacations after this wedding.”
