Donald Trump Announces Guidelines For CDC Mask

“This is voluntary. I don’t think I am going to be doing it,” the president told reporters at Friday’s coronavirus task force meeting.

With regards to following rules from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Donald Trump is utilizing a “do as I state, not as I do” approach.

On Friday, the CDC reconsidered its rules, encouraging Americans to wear a cover consistently when out in the open.

In any case, when the president declared the proposal at the coronavirus team press instructions on Friday evening, he underlined that the cover measure is “intentional” and made a special effort to state he wouldn’t go along.

“This is willful. I don’t think I will do it,” he told journalists, as per PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor.

Truth be told, Alcindor said the president continued repeating that he would not be covering his face paying little heed to what his group of specialists said.

After columnists squeezed the president on why he wouldn’t follow the CDC proposal, his answer recommended he was more worried about vanity than the infection:

“I just don’t want to wear one myself … I’m feeling good. … Somehow sitting in the Oval Office … the great Resolute Desk … I think wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, dictators … I don’t know, I don’t see it.”

Ironically, the CDC said the mask recommendations were made at the behest of the White House.

As you might imagine, many Twitter users had strong imagination about the president’s unwillingness to follow the advice issued by his own administration.

But few individual were more concerned about the reason he cited for not wanting to wear a mask.
